The 1999-2000 NBA season was the Nuggets' 24th season in the NBA and 33rd season as a franchise.〔(1999-2000 Denver Nuggets )〕 It was their first year at the Pepsi Center. The team selected James Posey as their eighteenth pick in the 1999 NBA Draft. At midseason, the Nuggets traded Ron Mercer and Chauncey Billups to the Orlando Magic for Chris Gatling and Tariq Abdul-Wahad. Denver finished fifth in the Midwest Division with a 35-47 record.
